The London 1908 Olympic marathon was a famous race that has influenced the world of long distance running ever since.
At Original Marathon, we were inspired by the heroic stories of these pioneering athletes that we decided to recreate this event and give everyone the chance to run the first ever 26.2 mile marathon.
We are recreating every aspect of the race:
The route
The start time (11:30am)
The number of entrants (75)
The actual finish line location
A replica medal and medal presentation box
And a our own Diploma of Merit
Such was the achievement of completing the marathon in 1908, that every finisher in the race was awarded a Diploma of Merit. You'll have yours, as soon as you cross that famous finish line.
